The Order of Saint Eulalia in the Republic of Malta

The Government in the Republic of Malta is represented by a Chancellor nominated for appointment by the Grand Master of the Order. All Chancellors act as Ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary (or Ministers) of the Central Government (The Chancellery) and they are the highest ranking individuals to represent the Order in their appointed States. Their work is to advise and assist the Grand Master in any given area and to represent the Order to all official entities and in all official ceremonies.

The Chancellor of Malta presides to and is assisted by the Council of Malta composed by the 68 Counselors in charge of the 68 Councils of Malta. Each Counselor is assisted locally by two Lieutenants.
